Zoltek Joins Tornado Relief Efforts with Volunteer Support and $10,000 Donation

St. Louis, MO – June 2025 – In response to the devastating tornado that impacted communities across St. Louis on May 16, Zoltek, a global leader in industrial grade carbon fiber, mobilized employees to provide direct support to those communities impacted most.

Partnering with United Way and CareSTL Health, Zoltek team members transported essential supplies to a local health clinic and then distributed those supplies into the community. Supplies included diapers, hygiene kits, trash bags, flashlights, canned goods, and bottled water.

Zoltek CEO Dave Purcell joined the effort and offered words of encouragement to those impacted. Mr. Purcell commented, “Zoltek has deep roots in the St. Louis community, and we have an obligation to show up and give back when something like this happens. The smiles and gratitude shown throughout the day reminded us that a little help goes a long way, and we’re proud to be part of the recovery efforts.”

In addition to the hands-on volunteer efforts, Zoltek donated $10,000 to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Tornado Relief fund, helping with continued relief and rebuilding efforts.

Zoltek recently concluded its Tornado Relief Donation Drive, during which employees across multiple offices contributed essential supplies including food, hygiene products, and household goods. All donated items were recently collected and successfully picked up by the St. Louis Area Food Bank, extending Zoltek’s commitment to supporting local recovery efforts.
