A team led by renowned sailor, Nándor Fa, began building their carbon fiber racing vessel in 2012. Fa and his team built the specially designed sail boat using Zoltek’s PX35 carbon fiber for the hull, specifically the continuous tow and multi-directional carbon fiber fabric product lines. Fa also utilized Toray carbon fiber to create the mast ultimately creating a 60 foot racing vessel that is significantly lighter than similar sized vessels built from standard materials. Since the completion of this ambitious project, Fa has sailed around the world in a number of races including the Barcelona World Race and the Vendée Globe.
