Thermoplastic Compounding Applications

For all resins from Polypropylene to high-heat resins, our sizing chemistry will enhance the physical properties of your resin system.

Zoltek offers various grades of chopped, milled, and continuous carbon fiber tow created for use with general purpose, engineering grades, and ultra-performance thermoplastics. Our portfolio includes grades sized to be compatible with polypropylene, nylon, polycarbonate, and multiple high-temperature thermoplastics. Technical assistance is available from our team of experts.
ZOLTEK fibers offer:

  • Improved dimensional stability and mechanical properties
  • Increased conductivity and static dissipation
  • High strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios
  • Greater thermal stability
  • Ease of feeding and processing

Our new and improved -52 sizing results in a 30% increase in Flex Strength.

When compared to previous sizing chemistries, our -52 sizing shows approximately 30% increase in tensile strength.

This patented technology is available for sampling now!

Testing has shown a 50% increase in elongation when used with a compatible resin system.

PX35 Chopped Carbon Fiber

Designed with cleaner and more consistent flow rates in mind, ZOLTEK’s chopped fiber is produced to have a high bulk density value. Commonly compounded with general engineering thermoplastics (e.g., PC, Nylon, etc.) and high-temperature thermoplastic resins (e.g, PEEK, PEI, etc.), the resulting composite offers industry-leading high strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios.
